| Through its 100 plus volunteer handlers and their certified therapy dogs, Caring Canines brings comfort, companionship, solace, and social interaction to isolated and distressed individuals in health care and educational facilities throughout the Greater Boston area. Caring Canines includes a division devoted exclusively to children and special needs adults called Hug-A-Pet. Most of the children and adolescents they visit have emotional or psychiatric problems and many of them have challenging physical issues. Our services are provided free of charge, and our organization is administered entirely by volunteers. Your generous financial support helps us pay for the actual expenses we incur by providing our services-expenses such as website, telephone, insurance and printing costs, without which we would not be able to give our volunteers the support they need to provide exemplary service to the Greater Boston community.
