of crisis has been demonstrated time and again. They offer more
just a warm furry body; many dogs instinctually understand when someone
needs comfort and offer it unconditionally, without judgment or

After September 11th, the availability of therapy dogs proved invaluable to people being evacuated from the site, to those who lost loved ones, and to rescue workers who were at the site round the clock in the weeks after the attack (see articles below).
